Karen Tyler Contemporary Art

My paintings are abstracted interiors rendered in strong colors and layered textures. I like to work large and let my brushwork express my energy and my “quick take” on what I see.

The subjects I paint are all around me, from my home in Old Town Alexandria to the interiors of friends and family. All it takes to inspire me is a nook or cranny of a room, my paint box or my view from a window.
